If there was certain proof that God exists then the vast majority of highly intelligent, problem solving, critical thinking scientists of the world would not be atheist, however, the opposite seems to be the case.

Unlike God, however, I cannot prove such a fairy-elephant is imossible to disprove either.
Right, because it is not also intangible and undetectable, unlike god. A better example would be Russel's teapot. You can always say that the stars were out of alignment, causing your dowsing rod to fail. If you won't give any rules on which alignments make it work, then they can't prove you wrong.

Good, so you agree with me that the OP's question is asking for something impossible right?

Now I will add there is certain proof God exists, but thats off-topic obviously.

Again, you say that there's 'certain proof' that god exists, but I have never seen so much as credible evidence, let alone proof. If god cannot be detected, then how can we assume that he exists? How can god, an infinity, come from nothing when the universe supposedly can't? The statistical probabliities of that should be enough, the refutation of countless arguments for his existence (god-of-the-gaps, prayer study in my previous post, etc.) are almost overkill in my opinion.

Apparently you live in a reality where "certain proof" == "sufficient to convince the credulous".

I received word from Erlik just today(he possessed me, and so did an ancestral spirit) that I am to be his mouth and act on his behalf in the area I live in, performing exorcisms and divinations.. How can you tell me that I didn't?

What is actually relevant is that God cannot be shown to be possible. Only an idiot would believe in something on the basis that it can't be proven impossible.

"I don't know" is the only logical answer, given our human fallibility.

I don't understand why "maybe" and "maybe not" are separate options though.

I find that "I do not care" works for me. Tongue

One of those vagaries of English, divi Tiberio.

As George Carlin pointed out many years ago " Flammable. Inflammable. Non-inflammable. Why are there three? Shouldn't two words be enough to convey this idea? Either a thing flams or it doesn't."

I don't know but probably not.

I technically can't know 100%, but it's more like 99.9%. If scientists can dismiss the mass of an electron as zero, I can dismiss the probability of god's existence as zero.
