It doesn't matter whether it gets to you or not. Or whether it gets to the others. The thing is, that most of your kind are forced to walk the nights, and cannot participate into normal society.
Perhaps in Bangcock.

Quote:Society doesn't think. Society follows things that everybody agrees upon. 50 percent or even 60 or 70 percent is not something that you can show me to prove that society accepts homosexuals as their "own".
Because open homosexuals prefer not to do that.
Here, you've earned this.
Do you have any idea how impossible it is to get 100% agreement on ANYTHING? I mean, with freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of press and all those other freedoms, the US is a pretty diverse place and, yeah, there are some total dolts out there. We can't even get 100% of the population to agree on something as simple as the earth being round!

Quote:[quote]Indeed. And those people influence the future. Meaning, the past and future are inseperable.
Not sure exactly what you mean with this one. Sure, our past has an impact on our society, but our past doesn't dominate it. The only way our past really influences society is by influencing the people alive and forming the society now.
Yes, the past influences the future by influencing the people of the future. These people, grouped together, are what the society is. However, while the past influences society, it doesn't dominate society. If it did, we would still be burning people at the stake for being a witch.
Quote:[quote]That's where the crazyometer went off the charts! Dude! This is NOT Inception land and nobody ever said people in dreams matter. Then why this long discussion about whether to allow gays to marry or not? I can't really think of anything else. I certainly believe that this whole gay marriage thing is just part of the homosexuals trying to feel better about themselves by feeling a bit more normal, like everyone else, while living out their abnormal selves.
Only time will tell what else will come after they are allowed to marry in the US.
The reason for gay marriage is because there re very real benefits that homosexuals are excluded from on the basis of their being unable to get married. Inheritance rights, social security and other survivor benefits, immigration rights (I went to school with someone who had that issue). If we want to give gay people those rights and call it something other than marriage, I can go with that, I guess, but I still don't see a good reason to exclude gay people from marriage.
