7/10 - wouldn't put it in my music playlist but it was easy to listen to.

6.5/10 Solid, but not exceptional.
Note: There are a few things I should mention. First, it is safe to assume that I have played the game from which I post music. Second, as I had/have no friends I spent much of my fee time in high school and middle school playing video games. I don't have an ipod and I don't know most of the songs that are out, so this is why I will likely be posting mostly game nusic. However, this particular piece is not actually from the game (which I didn't play) but a symphonic version of it. The CD this was originally on came with a game I own so that is how I knew about it. EDIT: Well, I might post music from anime too, if I have watched the series. RE: 'Rate the above person's music'

Intimations of greatness, but no ginormity. After the first few bars, I thought this would be 9/10, but it quickly started meandering. It managed to sustain some thrust throughout, but rather pedantic playing from the orchestra prevents this piece from reaching it's full potential. Under the right hand, it could be 8/10. As it sits, 7/10. This is the first single of the 80s Queen of Jpop, Chisato Moritaka, at age 18 in 1987. She is better known as having the world's only extant set of 'perfect gams'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyW9fYZuYr8 RE: 'Rate the above person's music'

8/10 - 80's J-pop, huh? Let's get into modern J-pop =o
That's right, I'm breaking out the Japanese stuff even though I've failed to acquire a decent rating on the English-sung symphonic metal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5_quqY91...plpp_video 7/10 for Darkstar's posting of the version of OOT's Gerudo valley theme but I prefer the original version. I've always said the Legend of Zelda series has the best sound-track over-all of any video-game series. My personal favourite track from the series is the Stone Tower Temple theme.
Sometimes it is hard getting over your personal reactions and trying to see a thing in the round, From my view the above is too exact it is made well, but I cannot get enthralled by it. How about something a little less finnished-

6/10, it would have been called "Groovy" back in the day. Here a classic from the same era

So raw and primal and now so un-nuanced. Not sure about the number rating system but I'd have to give it a 10/10 out of nostalgia. So here is something from a tad later, fully electric but a little more garage band roughness to it. Frigid Pink's "House of the Rising Sun". http://youtu.be/t40INnb6DnY
Some times one version of a piece becomes so entrenched, that I honestly can't hear anybody else play it, and that house in New Orleans for me is actually near Newcastle North England and it is sung by the Animals
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwAw9ThDQmk I wondered if I could find a bit of music for both groups on this thread, Does this hit or fall in no man's land? Individual musical dexterity, but with that driving essence that could fit behind a game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E3znZoFnN8
Also, I just want to note that I skipped over one of your postings last page, jonb. I didn't see you give a ratio so I figured you didn't listen to or rate his music but I now see how you're going about this and that you did, in fact, listen to and rate his music. I apologise.
