GET OUT THE VOTE!
October 26, 2012 at 6:29 am
Romney's money machine and Obama's lack luster 1rst debate are combining to errode Obama's lead. If you are voting for Obama do not let the early voting polls fool you. It is now too close to call and we cannot afford to turn back the clock on the economy and women's rights.
To my liberal theist friends, this affects us all espcially women. All of us need to make every effort we can to vote and to post EVERY SINGLE DAY ON EVERY LOCAL AND NATINOAL MEDIA WEBSITE. You don't have to spend hours, but just make posts at your favorite media or facebook or twitter sites.
This is way too important and I do not wan Bush on Steroids for 4 years much less one Day.
VOTE AND POST POST POST, donate time too, whatever you can. Every voice counts.

You don't want Bush on steroids? Have you seen the stuff the Obama administration has done over the past 4 years?
He extended the Patriot act, increased the amount of warrantless spying, signed the National Defense Authorization Act, which permits the government to hold suspects of terrorism indefinitely without trial (even if they are American), and operates a secret kill list.
But that's ok, because at least he closed Guantanamo right? Oh...yeah.
You already got Bush on steroids; he just happened to be a Democrat.

I'm actually extremely disillusioned with the voting process, and I am seriously considering not voting.

None of this is going to change regardless of who is elected as president. But these are the types of criticisms that should be made, not the random bullshit accusations a la Trump's "bombshell."

I disagree of course; there are good candidates out there who aren't controlled by big corporations. They just don't have any chance of getting elected.
Note that despite my dislike of Obama over what he has done, my post is in no way an endorsement of Romney. Both men are pathetic.

I'm starting to see that old meme of "both candidates are pretty much the same" come up. Personally, I disagree with it. The last time I remember this many people trying to claim that both candidates were basically the same was in 2000. Because of that meme, Dubya was elected and look what he did: ran a budget surplus into a record budget deficit, stated two wars, one unnecessary the other avoidable if he had paid better attention to his intelligence briefings, alienating most of our foreign allies, high ranking government positions given exclusively to cronies even if they're incompetent (like Mike Brown), laisse Faire capitalism combined with big government bailouts...... As much as I'm not fond of centrist Obama, I'm well aware that Romney can make things much worse.
Although, in a long-term sense, part of me hopes Romney wins though. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with anything on the Republican platform, but Romney is a centrist, too. If him winning the election can bring the Republican party back from the brink of insanity and turn them from the crazy party that's talking about legitimate rape into a reasonable party that I may still disagree with, I'm all for it. I worry that if Romney looses, which seems pretty likely according to most polls, in the next election the Republicans will nominate some far right whack-job, he'll win and he'll drag the Republican party even further to the right.

I don't think Romney has exhibited enough spine to stand up to his own party, even if he is elected.

So, in an average US presidential election 58% of the US population vote.
Isn`t that sad that only 58% take an active interest in who runs your country?
Eighter almoust half of the US population doesn`t care, or there is no representative, or better put a ideological gap.
The average in germany is 70%.

Of course they are not the same - Romney is far worse but he is the least of the problem. The greater part of the problem is that he will bring the neo-con asswipes back into power so we can start more wars... and then demand that social programs be cut to pay for them!
Obama has been a major disappointment but when you realize that the government bureaucracy is inherited and passed along you see why things never change. Sure.... the president comes in and appoints a new Attorney General. But other than a handful of other political appointees the rest of the DOJ remains intact...doing what they had been doing all along. Bureaucracies change very slowly. The same applies to virtually every other department.
