Napo, I read today that more school shootings have occurred in the UK in the past decade by far. Sorry. I'll try to find some stats on that.

Also, obviously there is an agenda. Raising a point where you obviously have an opinion is promoting an agenda. It's not to say that promoting an agenda is bad. I simply think a lot of us think it is bad timing.

When is good timing then? Two weeks after? Two months? Two years? Two decades? When? What difference does it make? If someone has a valid question that indicates lives could be saved by doing something differently, as far as I'm concerned there's no such thing as 'bad timing'.

I really don't see how it's disrespectful in the slightest to try and find a way of preventing such tragedies happening in the future, because that's the only motivation I personally have when I ask "why has a crazy fucker like that got access to guns".

I agree with you. What all really needs to be said about the suffering? "Damn shame." "So sad." "Regrettable." Now I prefer to problem solve than to go on in that vein.

Is it opportunistic? We're not all in a small room with the victims present where we need to be quiet and respectful. We're just on the fucking internet talking about what is on our minds. Shit happens all over the world every day. It is not my goal to feel it all as deeply as possible. However, I'm on board for discussing how to solve problems which recur over and over again.

Perhaps we need two threads for this. One for those who feel the need to mourn and one for the rest of us.
