Two gun incidents, are you a gangster? Give me some details.

It's relevant because it was a turning point in American history. They triumphed against a tyrannical system and set up their own government based on the values of liberty. The founding fathers realized that whilst they needed to defend themselves as a nation, they could not ask their citizens to trust the government to have all the guns and use them responsibly, so they added an amendment to the constitution that means ordinary citizens can bear arms, in case the time comes when they need to stand up against the government again.

IMO, it's a very good amendment. Yes, other countries have had revolutions, and sometimes they work...but a lot of the time they fail and end up with even more oppressive governments than they had before.

"The rate of private gun ownership in the United States is 88.82 firearms per 100 people"
You can't tell anything from that statistic at all. Some people own more than one firearm...some own only one. A few people probably own dozens (and would qualify for your "armed to the teeth" description). However, saying that there are 88.82 firearms per 100 people does not necessarily mean that 88.82% of people in America own a gun. Indeed, knowing that there are people with more than one gun, and in some cases, many more than one gun, the percentage of people who own at least one gun is probably a lot lower.

Indeed, and I'd say that owning one gun is not armed to the teeth. Hell, having two or three isn't either. It depends on way more factors than that, like the type of gun and how much ammunition is stored. A guy with 10 handguns in display cabinets and one box of ammunition is IMO not "armed to the teeth".

Why is it necessary for you to be all armed to the teeth?

This picture tells me that there is something seriously fucking wrong with American society.

How does my American right to own a gun affect some guy who lives on the other side of the globe?....You don't live in this country. You live in Australia. So what's it your business what I own and how many I have?

BTW, here's something I'm getting for my tool box, (just so I can piss off a gun control fanatic)....

It can shoot 8D nails at 200 yards. I can build a fence from the comfort of my lawn chair while the wife holds each board in place..."Hey Honey! A little more to the left!...That's it! Don't move!"...

Well, that's just about the most assinine response I've read yet. And I'm an American, so if you don't like my response, go find a tree and nail yourself to it, just like your Jesus did.

If you don't appreciate the awesomeness of a semi-automatic assault nail gun, your citizenship should be revoked. I am going to get one of those and build so much stuff. It will all have 9 times the normal amount of nails in it.
