H1B Visas: Are They Destroying America?

So I was reading this article here: http://www.theglobaldispatch.com/america...isa-41902/, and I was reading the comments/debates toward the bottom. It all started when I saw a clip of Michio Kaku speaking about what he perceives as a "shortage" of American STEM workers (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, college graduates leaving the country), and our alleged "lacking" education system. He says (basically) that our education system sucks and that we are at fault for not extending/granting more H1B Visas to foreigners (i.e. - we will soon not be able to compete in the world economy b/c we suck). That video can be found here:

Now, those who disagree with Kaku, Gates, and others are (to the best of my knowledge) basically arguing that big companies want more H1B Visas because of cheap labor. Foreigners are willing to work for less wage, less benefits, etc and the big corporations line their pockets (as always). They also argue that America does indeed have the best education and that those for more H1B Visas are just wrong about the US Education system.
I want to know what you think!
NOTE: As I open this topic for discussion, please state facts and site original data/statistic sources (i.e. - Do your homework), when possible. I don't want to get into a dumb shouting match. Let's talk about what is really going on based on evidence, reason, and logic.
