H1B Visas: Are They Destroying America?

H1B Visas: Are They Destroying America?
So I was reading this article here: http://www.theglobaldispatch.com/america...isa-41902/, and I was reading the comments/debates toward the bottom. It all started when I saw a clip of Michio Kaku speaking about what he perceives as a "shortage" of American STEM workers (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, college graduates leaving the country), and our alleged "lacking" education system. He says (basically) that our education system sucks and that we are at fault for not extending/granting more H1B Visas to foreigners (i.e. - we will soon not be able to compete in the world economy b/c we suck). That video can be found here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qty1xqvQBrA

Now, those who disagree with Kaku, Gates, and others are (to the best of my knowledge) basically arguing that big companies want more H1B Visas because of cheap labor. Foreigners are willing to work for less wage, less benefits, etc and the big corporations line their pockets (as always). They also argue that America does indeed have the best education and that those for more H1B Visas are just wrong about the US Education system.

I want to know what you think!

NOTE: As I open this topic for discussion, please state facts and site original data/statistic sources (i.e. - Do your homework), when possible. I don't want to get into a dumb shouting match. Let's talk about what is really going on based on evidence, reason, and logic.

Why are you allowed to "cite" other people's shouting matches as evidence, but we are not allowed to cut out the middleman and simply use DI shouting?

In any crime, follow the money.

http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes....reen-cards

Quote:Microsoft is pushing for legislation in the US to get 20,000 supplementary H-1B visas to be allocated for foreign personnel with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills. Along with that, it wants the US Congress to reallocate 20,000 green cards for workers with these skills.

Now, what does a company get with a H1B visa employee?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-1B_visa

Quote:If a foreign worker in H-1B status quits or is dismissed from the sponsoring employer, the worker must either apply for and be granted a change of status to another non-immigrant status, find another employer (subject to application for adjustment of status and/or change of visa), or leave the US.

Ah! The company gets what amounts to an indentured servant who can't bitch and moan the way the native born can.

Just what the greedy corporate cocksuckers want.

borders kill any nation, there is no such thing as overpopulation, merely stagnation provided by these artifical imaginary lines we draw in the dirt, there is no reason why mexicans should not be able too come too america too work and provide a proper life for their family, americans live in the most isolated society in the world, we should tear down these ARTIFICIAL MILITARY GAURDED BORDERS AND ALLOW ANYONE TOO come into our "country"

Ummm

There is one problem here in Oz. There is a lack of resources.. mostly water and food. What is not remembered is that there is roughly only a 100 km strip along the coast that is inhabitable... the rest is hard living with very few resources and infrastructure.

Whoever said I was quoting them as evidence? I'm simply opening up the discussion which was brought about by something that I was reading.
