Gun crime is at its highest in years. How is that "pretty well"?

Oh, look. Our resident fascist gun nut found a graphic he likes.

Too bad for you that this bullshit started under your hero Bush the Stupid.

Quote:The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) ran a series of "gunwalking" sting operations[2][3] between 2006[4] and 2011.[2][5] These operations were done under the umbrella of Project Gunrunner, a project intended to stem the flow of firearms into Mexico by interdicting straw purchasers and gun traffickers within the United States.[6] "Gun walking" or "letting guns walk" was a tactic whereby the ATF "purposely allowed licensed firearms dealers to sell weapons to illegal straw buyers, hoping to track the guns to Mexican drug cartel leaders."[7

Facts are nasty things to you assholes, aren't they?

Some residual gun crime rate will go up and down when there are supposed to be no guns. But the fact that it's "up" is way, way, way lower than American "down - That's how it's "pretty well".

I wouldn't expect much out of you -- you're more convinced that embracing guns is like religion -- no compromise, no change, no improvements.

It's only ideology to you.

Bloody ideology.

The point is, banning guns in the UK didn't do what it was supposed to. Gun crime suddenly jumped by 40% in 2 years. The ban came about because of a school shooting, which as you'll be aware, is a very rare form of gun crime. There was no need to ban guns in order to reduce the rate of school shootings, especially when it was already so low.

All we did was leave innocent people defenseless. America should learn from all these examples. There is no doubt that gun crime is a problem in your country, but banning guns is simply not the answer. Better education and training is, as well as doing proper background checks on people.

No-one is calling for the banning of guns, but to people like A theist it's the same thing.

This is of crimes where a gun was reported as being involved, it will include reports where the police were armed, and false reports from a time when guns were high on the agenda which would itself colour the statistics.

Is there any rational to your position at all, you want background checks, but you do not believe in the background checks done by social security, How would you set up a system that is more accurate?
Is your position motivated by anything more than I want one? If you want a gun and have a use for it why do you not apply to get a gun licence? Why have you not even bothered to find out yet how to use one?
Have you not seen that this issue is blowing away your own political agenda. If gun owners cannot give up their position even though it is detrimental to the general good, what chance is there for a libertarian viewpoint?
