Quote:well I don't know what his position was exactly,

He was the Grand Inquisitor. Seriously, they changed the name but it is the same organization that used to torture heretics.

Yes, the documentary mentioned that Ratzinger headed the same branch of the Vatican that was responsible for the Inquisition. As if that fucker doesn't look creepy enough...

Yeah. Especially when you're a little child.

Not that 50% are having sex with children, but 50% are having sex with someone... The Vatican knows this and simply doesn't care, it's been going on for centuries.
But all of this is stuff pretty much everyone knows, if not in detail. Should the Pope and the Church be charged? Yes. But actually doing it is much trickier than it would seem.

Well, if it's a church/Vatican rule/law that priests have to be celibate, then why should other countries prosecute those priests for not abiding by those laws?
Unless the Vatican asks for help on those matters, then it's the one that has to deal with them, internally.

Now, of course, that doesn't mean that the priests can go against the law of the country where they are at any given moment. If the law of that country prohibits pedophilia, and they are caught, then they must stand trial on that country, unless they ask for extradition and that country accepts.

I'm not trying to say that because priests are supposed to be celibate and they aren't they should be tried by any government other than that of the Church. But it does speak to the hypocrisy of they Church that they don't enforce their own rules. The Church has gone out of its way to protect pedophiles. This protection of pedophiles is what the Church should be charged with, along with the individuals who are abusing children. It's a conspiracy and it should bring the whole Church crumbling down. But it doesn't. I think it's interesting to explore why.

Yes, but the Church has managed to become an independent state, which prevents other countries from interfering in those matters.
Why did the US invade Iraq or Afghanistan, instead of... charging them with crimes against humanity, or something?

Because there's something the US wants from Iraq and Afghanistan. What are they going to get from the Vatican? Fancy artwork? Lots of funny hats? America doesn't do things just because they are the right things to do, unfortunately.

Isn't the Catholic church the wealthiest organization in the world?
Charge them with crimes against humanity AND fraud. (only Levite preists were required to "tithe")

Matt 16:18. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The church of Christ won't fall...because it is the people who love Jesus that are His church.

Not the few idiots and peds that you love to mark as Christians. No true follower of Jesus would act in that manner.

Just because: Lenin, Marx, and mass killers; Zadong & Stalin were Atheists doesn't mean YOU are like them....or are you?

And who believes that the famous Catholic, Adolf Hitler and his perverse doctrine speaks for us.... or ANYONE who believes in Christs' teachings?

I, like 99.99% of Catholics obviously want the madness and perversion to stop!

But priest, and bishops, and cardinals, and popes are people, and sometimes animals too.....just like every other walk of life!

Statistics say that your father, uncle, plumber, teacher or Boy Scout leader is more likely to abuse you than a Catholic priest!

Priests just get better press! Hmmmmm...and why is that?!

...maybe because most my fellow workers agreed upon this handily? Quote: "See....Thats why I won't go to church, their all pedophiles!"

I guess that excuse is as good as any you could think of.Thinking

Wow... Your own Catholic doctrine decrees that the Pope is god's representative on earth and unimpeachable, yet you deny this. A "few idiot" priests? I don't consider 50% of them breaking their vows celibacy to be a "few," even if it is a relative few of that 50% who molest children. Priests get better press for being pedophiles because of their standing in the community, because of the trust that is placed in them, and because they are consistently protected by the Church. This documentary showed documents from the American Catholic leadership begging Rome to do something about the pedophiles, and Rome remained silent. It's not all Catholics, but there are a lot of Archbishops, Cardinals, and even the Pope protecting these monsters. Where's the justice for the victims? Where's the protection for the kids being molested now?
