At 14 years old, they are not "kids". Unless you mean a "kid" as in "somebody's child" which any 40-year old can be. What's wrong with a 14 or 15 year old driving? They do that in foreign countries with no problem at all. It's just your brainwashed mind that thinks a 14 year old can't handle it. I've seen 10 year olds driving a land rover in Africa with absolutely no difficulties and as safely as any adult.

No. I never said that. The conclusion can be true while the premises and inferences can be false. I'm inclined to agree with you on your conclusion, but your arguments suck.

Take a look at this:

All dogs have fur.
My pet has fur.
Therefore my pet is a dog.

The conclusion is true. My pet is indeed a dog and he has fur. But the inference sucks. What if my pet was a cat? I would have concluded my cat was a dog just because he has fur!

Just because the conclusion is true doesn't mean your argument is good.

Here's part of the problem with your argument. Appeal to emotion type arguments can be fitted to "prove" anything.

I would like to ask a question to the persons who are trying to rationalize this topic... If you came home from work and found your, lets say 9 or 10 yr. old daughter playing with a black kid would you go, "Oh hi sweetie, I didn't know you had company." Then politely excuses yourself. Go into the kitchen and make them a few sandwiches? Because I'm sure they're gonna be hungry.

Yeah gonna jump in on the morally ambiguous side of lowering the age of consent, probably down to 15.

Just to put it out there though, I lost my virginity at 13 consensually to a 15 year old. I am not psychologically traumatized, and in fact if anything I would have to say that losing my virginity so young helped me identify a lot of things about myself in the context of my sexuality, personality, and relationship preferences.

For everyone in this thread who's asserted that pedophilia = child rape; you're wrong.

Pedophilia should be legal, yes. Having sex with prepubescents (if you're not a young'n yourself (I'm not going to suggest what ages these laws should all go by to allow flexibility)) should not be legal.

Pedophilia could not be made illegal because Pedophilia is sexual desire in an adult for a child. Thought (thus far) is not illegal.
Subsequently, a Pedophile is an adult who is sexually attracted to young children.

Whereas acting on those desires and committing sexual penetration of molestation of a child is illegal. It's not pedophilia, (per the above definitions) it's child rape and/or child molestation.
