Do you realize they are two different reasons, the one stated in 17:59 and the one stated in the hadiths?

Allah says in the Qur'an:
ادْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَادِلْهُمْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ ضَلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ ۖ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ "Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided." [Surah 16:125] Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “The most complete in faith are those best in their character, those who are easy to socialise with, and those who get along with others and others get along with them. Quran - the only reason is because past people rejected the signs. Hadiths - Prophet was asked told they would be punished if they rejected, was asked if miracles should be sent regardless, and replied in negative. I hope you can see these are two different reasons.
