Surely the point is the reverse of what you're saying Dar? This family is begging for a handout against what the council has decided: that they don't deserve it.

I'd agree with everyone if it looked like the default ruling was in favour of supporting special requests like this.

Yeah it's pleading for religious privilege but in this case the right side has won already.
