Ballsy. I can't imagine living in such an environment.

Welcome and enjoy your new found freedom.

Allow me to apologize for all the missiles we keep firing on your country...in the name of "peace" of course.

Welcome. I'm glad you're happy with the changes. I would suggest some moderation. Not for the sake of others, but too rapid a pace of change can be very stressful, though I likely don't need to tell you that. Good luck.

I dunno what to think about the drone attacks. If you've seen Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, there's a remarkable scene in there where the humans kept firing at the demons from space and the actual result was that the demons burrowed deeper and deeper into the earth. That's one of the side-effects of these attacks. Even though temporarily the numbers of Taliban decrease, they're increasing in the long-term because they burrow deeper inside Pakistan's territory and also developing a following of sympathizers. The Taliban must be stopped - there's no question about it! But sadly, the drones aren't accomplishing that goal. I wish that Madressas were out-laws or at least have their cirricula taken under some sort of control. Not an easy task at all, unfortunately.

Appreciate the sentiments - but I honestly don't think Americans should be apologizing for their Government's actions - if those actions stem from good intentions.

Bombing an ally can rarely be construed as "good intentions."

Where was your appreciative sentiment in the 90s when I spent most of my 20s patrolling the depths of our world's oceans while leaving behind a wife and kids? Appreciate the sentiments, my ass.

Who's intentions? What reason? How do you define 'good'? Good for me? Good for you? I suppose you are one of those yellow ribbon sporting idiots that think young Americans have died in the last decade for your freedom.

Any American can and should apologize for the crimes our government commits. And you pretend to have the moral authority to suggest I shouldn't.

You're a fucking disgrace.

I don't think that an entire society is responsible or accountable for the decisions made by its rulers or even supported by its majority. If you want to apologize for your government, then that's fine. But my only point is that there isn't a need to do so. Were you directly responsible for the atrocities commited? If not, then why are you apologizing?

To make damn sure that the people affected and others watching understand that not all Americans condone the activity. I also would not want my silence to be misconstrued as tacit approval.

What you seem to overlook is the fact that the people ordering and executing drone attacks, in this case, represent you regardless of your political affiliation or who you voted for in the last election. You remind me of southern sailors I served with that would be confused when they heard someone yell out "yankee go home".

They would to a person who's hell bent on finding scapegoats or masses of people to blame. The drone attacks aren't the responsibility of the American general public because A) They never asked the Americans for approval and B) Because most of the Americans have been kept unaware of the drone attacks on purpose and C) Because it was something no one got a vote on.
