Rape and injustice.

RE: Rape and injustice.
It's...not easy. I'll admit as such. There are some times where I come home from it and I'm just gaunt. My eyes are vacant, I barely respond to anyone around me, and I oftentimes just want to forget everything I just heard. I considered stopping, once, a couple months ago, when my bipolar 2 disorder was getting really bad and my lows were becoming suicidally bad. And that's when I got hold of some weed. Makes it easier to handle when you can go home and smoke a bowl. Still feel like shit but I can tolerate it again. And given how short-staffed they are at the RCC, I realize I fill a vital role. I get to help people. I can safely say I'm doing some good with my pathetic little life. And I keep people who've been traumatized beyond measure from succumbing to the experience. Yeah. It's hard. But it's worthwhile.

Nor could I. I'd be a wreck after the first shift. Kudos to you, Creed, for having the strength to do it.

Creed, your life is anything but pathetic and little. Thank you so much for what you do.

Someone's gotta, right? Apparently most people value their own time too much to help people who've been put through some of the worst emotional and physical trauma the human mind can conjure up. Most people also believe in a god, and spend more time exercising or shopping for clothes than they do trying to help someone else out. Most people just want to pretend nothing bad happens. Most people look out for number one.

I'm not like most people.

In the sense of "personal" accomplishments, it is. And according to a lot of "successful" individuals, it would be considered as such.

But, no. Thank YOU for saying that. Makes me feel better. :]

Addendum: The OP came out in such a spewing of anger largely because I am out of weed at the moment, I am temporarily out of work, and I'm worried about the girl from last friday, so reading those articles damn near made me go atomic.

I am offensive and I find this Canadian.

But really, it doesn't bother me in the least - and instead of turning into an emotionally driven rage-machine, I keep a calm head; I guess that's very Canadian of me, relative to you Americans <3

Very vague article, but-

Probably got drunk and had sex with a couple dudes at a party. Dudes at the party took pictures of her going girls-gone-wild on everybody and the pictures started getting passed around. She screams "rape" as soon as she finds out news of her sexcapade is spreading, as to not be confused with a "slut" (although, I don't believe she is one; fuck double standards and fuck as many guys as you want, girls!) She takes her own life. People get all up-in-arms about it, all because they heard the word 'rape.' Ta-da.

The majority of rapes could be stopped, if men would stop raping. The average rapist is someone the victim knows, and not a psychopath or anything, just a guy.

EDIT: Gilgamesh, you sound like the 50% of college students who estimate that rape accusations are false 50% of the time. The actual number is something more like 5%. That means that 95% of the time, the rapes happened. So in other words, fuck you very much.
