They probably don't even have that book, Min. Those were burned long ago.

They haven't any qualms about getting rid of them. The Concord library was woefully chock full of Christian based books and woefully 'old' in their science section. I haven't made it to the main branch in Charlotte to know whether they're more enlightened. As David will tell you, we have enough of our own that I should slap dewey decimal numbers on them lest I forget some exist. Maybe I'll do that Saturday and report back.

I always think of that scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Welcome aboard!

Since you are the son of a preacher, I'm not sure if this quite applies, but have you heard of 'The Clergy Project'?

http://www.clergyproject.org/

"The Clergy Project is a confidential online community for active and former clergy who do not hold supernatural beliefs. The Clergy Project launched on March 21st, 2011."

Seems like there might be some helpful resources there.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
