I'm here for the hell of it. I join forums so I have something to do in-between articles, as I tend to get burnt out if I just write straight through. My old favorite forum was getting pretty fucking weird, so I came here. It has nothing to do with theists, to be honest. I didn't even know this was a hugely theist forum when I came here. Also, I got the D.

Well, see, it all started with this guy named Spall. We met online because he was friends with a bunch of my friends and couldn't stand that I wasn't laughing at his jokes like the rest of them. He liked to write for Yahoo Voices or whatever the fuck it's called now - I think it had a different name back then. Time goes by and he and I had many pleasant talks about how stupid religion was, and he seemed to think I was funny when combating idiots on Facebook. So one day he says "Hey, there's this girl on Yahoo who wrote an article about that fucknut in FL who burned the Koran and some Christard is giving her hell. You should go check it out." Me being me, I couldn't keep quiet and ended up arguing with that woman for a couple pages of comments. The girl who wrote the article was Shell, and she messaged me to say, "You should join AF!" So I did. I think I even said it was her fault in my intro thread. I stayed because I like talking shit. And because I met some awesome people. But mostly the shit part.
I came here to practice my grammar.

I come here because there are few people that I know personally, except my wife, to whom I can talk about scientific and other 'complicated' stuff. Most people around here think I'm an uber nerd and avoid conversations with me about more complicated things than to put a laundry machine to work. Also I can really see how crazy they can get over silly religions and I got to know some people that are very cool.
Also, moderating allows me to practice my objectivity, with the plus of getting to use the banhammer now and then RE: So, why are we here .. on this forum?

Well, my main reasons for joining the forum are the following:
1. I like debates. This forum has enough of them to keep me interested. I became more interested in religion after I started to research it more (while I was actually researching atheism, there isn't much to talk about lacking a belief without mentioning the details of the belief you lack). So I like debating religion. Something to keep the mind occupied (uni isn't the same kind of mental work). 2. I have no friends. It's one thing in high school, but after going off to college...nothing to do (except classwork and studying), nobody to talk to...it gets old. As for the reasons I remain, that would be both of the above in addition to the interesting topics that pop up (as well as the interesting characters). I can tell that I have learned a lot since joining (many of my early posts were pretty bad...)
