RE: Christian things
Quote:Is that bad?

Many people have come asking that very question and the answer remains the same.

"How much shit are you willing to put up with because of it?" Truly, only you can answer that question for yourself.

Some families are crazier than others. Where would you put yours on a scale of 1 (normal) to 10 (batshit crazy)?

This may help ? The Roman method of crucifixion was a slow agonizing death, renowned for its utter brutality, it was the most feared form of execution, and the graphic spectacle served as a deterrant , upon being nailed to the cross { one in each wrist, just below the thumb and one through the foot and then the fourth through both feet} the condemned man would be hoisted aloft to die, as he weakend and his muscles stretched in his arms and back, sending shock waves of pain, he would slump and not be able to draw breath, so he would have to push up on his heel { the one being naild directly to his cross Genesis 3:15 ...,and thou shalt bruise his heel. } you see crucifixion was a death of slow suffocation of immense pain, when the condemned mans legs failed, after his arms had popped out from their sockets, he would finally die, this was known to take from 3 to 7 days . When Jesus and the two thieves were crucified it was on a friday and as the sabbath was due come sundown the priests did not want them to defile it ,so they got the Romans to break their legs to speed up the process, but when the guard came to Jesus he did not need to, as Jesus haveing fulfilled the prophecys of His death, gave up His life to His Father. Add to this prior to this brutal death, Jesus was scourged so all His ribs would have bean exposed and his flesh would have hung from Him like ribbons .

The Romans did not invent crucifixion. They learned it from the Carthaginians during the Punic Wars of the 3d century BC. Carthage, being a Phoenician colony founded in the late 9th century BC most likely brought the practice along with them from the ANE.

P.S. - If the gospel bullshit stories were to be believed then it was those same priests who not only brought "jesus" to the Romans to be crucified they were the ones who insisted that it be done at once. For them to then go and say "hey, what about our fucking sabbath!" would have probably gotten them a boot in the ass from whatever Roman was there.

Etruscans used crucifixion as well, as did the Persians. Both of these had contacts with Phoenecians. So It seems probably crucifixion as applied in the Medterranean during the classical period was spread around by the Phoeniceans.

But crucifixion is not really so uncommon a type of execution through out the world. It was used in Japan, China, Island cultures in the Pacific, etc. It also really didn't require a lot of sadistic inventiveness compared to many other forms of ancient executions, which might account for its relative commonality before christianity hyped it beyond all proportion. It was only the hype spread by self-serving christianity that made it seem to the untutored moderns a particularly unusually and cruel form of demise.

But imagine how far christianity would have gotten if Jesus was subject to what is in reality a more cruel, painful and prolonged execution as practiced by the Persians: He would be sealed up in a barrel with hands, feet, and head protruding. He would be force fed copious amounts of milk and honey to keep him alive and and induce and maintain diarrhea. He would wallow in the sealed barrel of his own filth for a period of 3-4 weeks as he is gradually consumed by maggots laid by flys attracted to the smell, until he eventually die of septic shock his chest and abdomon rots through and his innards are exposed to his own accummulated waste.

If you like it, keep wearing it. Why not?
I bought rosary beads like 2 years ago just because they were pretty. My sister always wears a cross just because it's pretty with purple stones. It's just a piece of jewellery. You can like it without it holding any religious significance for you.

Its a symbol of irrational and illogical thinking. It symbolises thousands of years of bloodshed and is the most recognisable icon of christianity and maybe all religions. Would you wear a swastika because your parents gave it to you?
If you are not christian, take it off
