Well I don't know German women. But in my experience at least, women on this side of the pond expect guys to just know instinctively what they want.
This actually causes a lot of fights between men and women because us guys aren't clairvoyant. It pisses the women off to no end.

Women expect men to be clairvoyant like we are.
When I walk into a room and ask the nearest man what I was looking for, he had better fucking know!

Actualy I should correct both previous statements. I am really not the kind of person who makes generalisations and then continues to interact with people on the basis of such generalisations.
