I.. don't wanna know.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Today: It's 05:45 in the morning and I have not been to sleep yet. I don't have work till 15:30 this afternoon, so that's fine, but I do have an alarm set for 08:55 so I can get my ticket for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Convention in November, which go on sale at 09:00! I'm totally going back to sleep after that though.
Also, this is my 1,000th post!

My body feels burned after getting too excited about the hot weather, I went cycling with no top on right beside blackpool beach for hours while listening to 70s rock music, it was worth it though.
Also this is my 1004th post, and if you don't think that's special then fuck you.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

As if you need a reason to go biking shirtless. I see dudes do it in the winter!
Also, Nora, I think I love you

Oh, apparently I'm wrong. It was just someone abusing their power...
My father's health took a turn for the worse a few days ago. We nearly lost him Thursday night, but thanks to the skill of the docs on his case, he survived.
I found that I was using the forum as an escape from what was really important and needed an enforced break.
He's in rough shape still, but his condition is improving slowly but steadily. I returned home yesterday evening but will be going back to be with him as my work schedule permits.
I appreciate all the support and kind words.

Still keeping 'em crossed here, mate. Makes typing these replies a bit of a challenge but hey.
My own parents are in their sixties now and in excellent shape but for years now the thought of being woken up by 'that' call has often left me in a cold sweat.
About twenty years ago, we nearly lost my Mum to a brain haemorrhage (sub-arachnoid). I can still remember, if I choose (I never choose), her anguished screams before she was wheeled away, unconscious, by the paramedics. A couple of emergency surgeries and several agonising weeks followed before a shadow of my Mum was allowed to come home. She went on to make a perfect recovery. We can never thank the medical teams enough. Whatever they're paid, it's nowhere near enough.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Stimbo, you youngster. I thought you were in my league age-wise. Looks like your parents are.
My hopes are with you, Cthulhu.

Sometimes life just kicks you in the nuts.
I just got news that an old friend passed away night before last. Suicide by overdose of acetaminophen (paracetamol).
I think I'm depressed.
Bleh.
