Hello fellow rational humans, I've been lurking here for a little while so I know a little about some of you already. I’m an atheist since fifteen brought up in a Christian home so as far as anyone in my family knows I’m just not very religious. The deception is for my mother whom is very very Christian and it would just upset her so.. I go to church with her a couple times a year and it makes her happy.

I do fancy myself a futurist so I’ll be bothering you with discussions on the things to come and how to deal from time to time amongst other subjects.

I like to think of myself as a "futurist" as well. I constantly watch TED talks; those things give you a really good view of the world in the next 10 years.

Actually Retorth somebody over at the CFI forum linked over here last week and I just got around to registering here yesterday so your welcome is timely.

Adrian, I enjoy the Ted talks as well. If I may ask why do you consider yourself militant? I happen to agree with Albert on this. youtube I also don’t agree that atheism should be listed as a religious views. “atheism is a religion like not collecting stamps is a hobby”.

frOdO, Self deprecating user names can remind you not to take yourself too seriously

Our views differ on religion and many of the arguments I don’t get into with my family I’ll probably take up with you on occasion, however I promise to do so respectfully.
