Well they haven't yet knocked on my door at 8 AM on Saturday morning when I'm trying to sleep in. Nor have they tried to force their religion into politics, that I know of.

Yet her parents

- even asked them to come around their minds and partake in traditional holy rituals when they got married.
- asked them to think about doing some kind of holy rituals to their firstborn child.

Did that ritual involve clipping off the end of his dick?

No, something about prayers but never explained the context.

This is pretty typical of all religious parents, though. It's not unusual for them to want their kids and grandkids to partake in their silly rituals.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

The Baha'i faith is light years ahead of Islam and Christianity - but they have their ideological stragglers too. I suppose it is just too damn difficult to realiz e that religion was supposed to engender peace not war.

It's essentially an upgraded version Islam with full equality for women and commandments against fundamentalism and terrorism. Sharia Law is replaced with a humanistic set of values most atheists would approve. It also views all religions as equally part of the one God revelation so it's very tolerant. Some minor problems as alcohol is still forbidden and no pre-martial or homosexual sex.

They have a problem with gays, otherwise not too crappy, morally speaking. Unfortunately, it's supposed to be nearly eight centuries before the next morality update. They haven't had a lot of practice cherry-picking their scripture.

Homosexuality has only been acceptable in our own culture within the last 50 years it was a jail worthy criminal offense up until then and you had to go on a program of sexual deviancy correction. In the last couple of years it's legal for homosexuals to marry in many Western countries so that's a lot of progress there. We haven't quite gone back to ancient Greece stage where it's every mature distinguished mans prerogative to pump up the backside of a younger man quite yet as there is still some lingering Abrahamic influence. Baha'i is naturally a human made product of the 19th century but it was very advanced for the time, we're talking the moral standards of the 1950s, better than in fact as everyone was a serious racist back then.

So this sums up my opinion on this religion overall.

I entered the Baha'i faith for about three years a long time ago. It is unlike them to force their beliefs on others. In fact, almost all of them oppose enforcing their beliefs on others.
