Well, you are the one who brought infinity into this and I agree with Fr0d0; infinity is a concept to be respected and only applys in very rare cases. I do not even believe the universe is infinite. People just say it is to sound smart, in fact most uses of infinity are just to add metaphysical credence to an argument. Reality happens in a confined space far from zero and infinity. Oh! *catches on at last!* Well yes, that would be quantum theory: Anything that can happen will happen an infinite amount of times.

Hmm, not familiar with that idea in quantum theory. I HAVE heard that anything that can happen does happen in a different universe and that is the reason I have a six dimensional model of time.

That would be quantum theory, and in your 6d model, the dimentions xt and yt , as you described, are not really dimentions, because time is not a space we travel through. Quantum mechanics states that when there are multiple options, a divergence occurs, and both options happen, the one you choose happens for you, but there are also other versions of everything, that every option happens in different versions of reality. This is the difficult to understand part of quantum mechanics.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

xt and yt are dimensions with xt being a dimension of choice and yt being another dimension that modifies an infinite amount of points along the xt axis. Void pointed out that it was redundant but I would say that yt for choice is only as redundant as y is for spacial placement. I would accept another definition for yt but it seems to me that our future would spread out in front of us as a cone of possible choices contained within three dimensional time rather than just an angle within a plane of time. At any rate talking about 4+ dimensional time has demonstrated to me that I need to read up on string theory. Rhizo RE: My world.

It might not even be possible for us to fathom such a universe... especially as the single linear model of time becomes harder to grasp with quantum theory. Considering the multiple options diverging from each other... there would have to be many times, spiderwebbing away from each other, and all linear. Time is relevant, after all... so each of these different threads would be constantly expanding outward with every possible divergence, with time continuing to support each one individually. A spiderweb being woven outward I think is a decent model to describe quantum theory... but I admit that I do not know everything about this theory.
But the strange thing about time... considering that it is relevant... how can it be linear? It would appear that all things 'move forward' through time... but at different rates. Is it possible... that the occurrence of time 'flowing backward' can happen as well? Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam

Tachyons are supposed to travel backwards in time. It is logical to think that if there is a dimension then travel along that dimension should be possible in both directions. Rhizo |
