I watched his speech and he was saying that it will cost you as little as a cell phone bill (under $100 he was saying) for most families

It is affordable for people who do not have healthcare through their employer or are self-employed or unemployed

It's not a bad deal at all unless he was lying about what he said

It was on the NBC national news (Brian Williams)

Meanwhile, this chart shows what happened from 2002 to 2012. I suppose the republicunts will blame Obama for this, too.

Of course. Income is also going to matter, because of the subsidies. I'm more interested in comparing the unsubsidized rates - apples to apples, you know.

The point of that chart is that the fucking insurance companies didn't need Obamacare to raise rates.

I was doing some reading, and apparently Wisconsin is the 14th highest state in the US for the insurance premiums under Obamacare. There were three states below us that were paying around $300+, but then the ones after were paying $125 on down. So, largely, yes, most states will be paying less.

I noticed most states with higher premiums were the ones with shitty employment rates. Go figure Wisconsin [48th in the nation for job creation ever since Scotty Dogwalker took governership after being 2nd in the nation prior; go figure, a tea-bagger fucks it all up for us] is so high up on that list, then...

Well, duh. I can tell you my rates have gone up as much as 35% in a single year, with several back-to-back double digit increases.

There's nothing magical about Obamacare - increasing the number of healthy people on insurance rolls can only do so much. The insurer's margin and the cost of the underlying commodity are still very much in control of premium rates.

Honestly I can't help but think Obamacare had too many hatchets taken to it. It seems more like a frankenstein of attempted appeal to everyone in the senate and congress than it does a system meant to fix the healthcare system.

You are perceptive, young padawan.

The trick is to get rid of the insurer's margin by putting all these useless insurance companies out of business. How many billions do they suck out of the system in profits? Medicare for all and the problem is solved.... except the problem of where the republicunts go for campaign bribes....er, contributions.

I like the U.K.'s National Health Services.
“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.” - Marcus Aurelius

On the news they went over several states and costs which varied several hundred dollars. One case I think he said if a woman is making $60.000 a year she would pay Just under $800.00 a month that's just under $10,000.00 a year. That's a lot of F%^$^ money. Now I am hearing rumors that Obamacare could lead to mandatory vaccinations, it's just a rumor but you gotta wonder
