It is not unreasonable to think think that things not proven to exist do not exist.

You can "prove it" within yourself you can't "prove it with science" you're presupposing that God is something that God can be demonstrated that way but that was never the idea.

Prove it... within myself... a being that cannot be proven with science...

How did I "presuppose" this as a young child? Gods were simply absent from my upbringing- my parents didn't discuss them. Once I learned about them, they felt about as compelling to believe in as the dragons in Arthurian legends.

You would do right to think that there is only one God and he was not created. There may well be beings that would seem like immortal gods to us aren't like pagan deities who are to be worshiped they would all be creations of the same God just as we are.

How does this address what I said to you, other than telling me what to think again? I didn't know about gods as a child. I could not make any judgments at all because I had never heard of them. That made me an atheist, because I was without god-belief, which is the exact meaning of the word "atheist."

You can "prove it" within yourself you can't "prove it with science" you're presupposing that God is something that God can be demonstrated that way but that is a mistaken assumption. You can only demonstrate the existence of physical objects and energy through that method and God is neither.

But there is no shortage of gods, demons, and fairy-tale creatures that have been "proved" through that method. All you need is to be crazy and/or hallucinating. BAM! God exists!
