@ DP, I get to your questions as soon as I can, but will give the progression of when the disciples were called.
Mark 1:16-20, Luke 5:4-11, John 1:43-52) Andrew was a disciple of John the Baptist and heard John proclaim Jesus as the Messiah. Andrew went to meet Jesus, then went to Peter and told him about Jesus and peter went to meet Jesus. The next day Jesus asked Phillip to follow Him, Phillip went to Nathanael and told him about Jesus, Nathanael went to meet Jesus.
Matthew 4:18-22) Later Jesus called Andrew and Peter to follow Him and within a short time that day call James and John who were brothers to follow Him.
Matthew 9:9, Mark 2:13-17, Luke 5:27) Then Jesus called Matthew to follow Him, this was after the Sermon on the Mount and was before the Sermon on the Plain. These were the only ones called by name that Jesus approached to follow Him. There were many who were following Him and they were all called disciples.
Luke 6: 12-17) The Apostles, which are the Twelve were called on the mountain the morning of the Sermon on the Plain.

Yes.
Quote:...So Jesus called Peter and Andrew, who lived in Bethsaida...
Yes. Came from originally. "...from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter"
Quote:...This does not sync with the Synoptic accounts, which establishes that Peter and Andrew lived in Capernaum.
Yes. Lived in one place and originally came from another place are not mutually exclusive. Ambiguous does not = contradictory.
Quote:...All this happened prior to the arrest of John the Baptist.
All what? This is where you are coming unstuck. You are assuming stuff happened which is not in the text and likewise assuming stuff did not happen just because it isn't in the text.
Quote:John 3:24 For John was not yet cast into prison.
Yes. Any Concordance will show you that there is evidently a lapse of time between Andrew (who was a follower of John the Baptist) telling his brother Peter about the newly discovered Lamb of God, and Jesus later calling Peter to become a fisher of men.
1. John is baptizing. Andrew is an early follower. Both behold the Lamb of God.
2. Andrew wants to tell his brother who earns his living as a professional fishing business about Jesus. Leaves John the Baptist. Jn 1:40
3. Time passes. Andrew and Peter do fishing stuff etc etc. They don't IMMEDIATELY drop everything and run off to find Jesus.
4. John the Baptist is arrested. Lk 3:19
5. Jesus calls Peter to become a disciple Mk 1:16 Mt 4:18

When are you two going to catch on that ceaselessly repeating the same tired old bullshit from your fucking gospels proves NOTHING? We know what they say and they are not impressive although they might be more so if they did not contradict each other but you are still sifting through a pile of shit looking for a kernel of corn. You insist on playing inside of the pages of one book because your boy exists no where else.
In fact, "Iesou" doesn't even enter the story until the mid second century as far as Roman writers are concerned.
Time to face reality, boys.

That's funny because DeistPaladin is trying to prove something by...quoting stuff from the Gospels. If quoting from the Gospels proves NOTHING!!!!!! (SCREAMING EXCLAMATION MARK EMPHATIC CAPS LOCK AAAAARRRGGHHH!!!!)
...then what is this thread here for?

Enter the story? What story? You mean the Gospels?

You may have noticed....or perhaps not, you being you, that I am not D-P.
I'm nowhere near as tolerant of bible stupidity as he is. He's a good man.
No. Fuck your gospels. I don't give a shit about your gospels.
The first Roman writers to mention this shit speak of christians or chrestians or christos or chrestus. They know nothing about any "jesus" until the late second century as shown in Celsus c 180 AD.
Who knows? Perhaps there were other derogatory comments about some schlepper named "jesus" but when xtian thugs burned the libraries these were all lost. That's what you get for destroying knowledge. The earliest Roman writer who heard of your godboy was not until 180 AD and he wasn't impressed!
Quote:"Let us imagine what a Jew- let alone a philosopher- might say to Jesus: 'Is it not true, good sir, that you fabricated the story of your birth from a virgin to quiet rumourss about the true and insavoury circumstances of your origins? Is it not the case that far from being born in the royal David's city of bethlehem, you were born in a poor country town, and of a woman who earned her living by spinning? Is it not the case that when her deceit was uncovered, to wit, that she was pregnant by a roman soldier called Panthera she was driven away by her husband- the carpenter- and convicted of adultery?"

Saul of Tarsus was a Roman citizen.
How come you don't include his writings?

Atheist1 makes an argument using the Bible. We refute said argument, also using the Bible. Atheist2 jumps in and says we can't use the Bible.

My apologies for being absent for this last week. Life was quite hectic, which is a good thing given the slump we were in during the shutdown fiasco. We definitely felt the effect in our business. Now things have reversed themselves and I was struggling to keep up.
Rest assured, Min and I are not tag teaming. We just have different styles. I try to reason with Christians and show them how their scripture is self-contradictory and not supported by history, watching with bemusement as they tie themselves into knots performing mental gymnastics to square the circle. Min just tells Christians to go fuck themselves
