Demonstrably, it would be: there wouldn't be a large organization content to shift pedophiles around rather than let them face justice, for one.
Not to mention all the, y'know, historical murders. Just saying.
Though, unlike the catholic church itself, we're happier not changing minds at the tip of a sword. 
Anyone who complains and doesn't lift a finger is part of the problem.
I'm happy to say that this isn't 1977 or even 1997. There is something being done. I've witnessed it in my community. And its working!

I hate all superstitions equally and it isn't one religion that makes stupid claims, they all do.
You are never going to rid our species of delusion. The only thing you can do is question, challenge and blaspheme to keep it at bay so that it does not become abusive.

No. I've actually done more than watch them put in handcuffs. But I don't like to brag about being in law enforcement. It doesn't make friends easily.

If you have helped sort out wrongdoing then bravo.
The fact remains that bigotry is still a prevalent problem, so I wouldn't brag that it's nearly 2014. 37 years of being pulled kicking and screaming out of a mire of hatred and making little progress is nothing to be proud of.
