Well, nobody knows, so take heart. You'll never know beyond a shadow of a doubt. What you CAN do is look at specific attributes of the god you've been taught about and evaluate those. If that doesn't square with you, it doesn't mean you have to abandon all faith.

I'm sorry you're going through a hard time. You are seeking and asking questions, and that is a good thing. I'm sorry your Mom doesn't see it like that, but using your intelligence to investigate the world around you is a beautiful thing. I am always impressed when people can navigate such a difficult path, and I am rooting for you, Ring0.
