I also believe God is an invention of man... a fictional one. Whether intentionally or, indeed, perhaps, unintentionally.

God is an outcast from a horribly advanced and ancient alien civilisation who found the Earth a few thousand years ago and thought he would play some games with the primitive little hominids that he found crawling over its surface. He has since left for a tour of the Universe not realising the mess that he has left behind.

Just a concept? What like... a metaphor?

I believe in the concept of God... but not the existence of God. That's why I'm an atheist. The concept of God obviously exists.

Well I'd be crazy not to believe in the concept.

Not in a positive way of course. I mean I just believe the concept exists... obviously.
