monkey seems to be willing to follow where ever the evidence leads no matter where it takes him, which is what a truly open mind does. What is beyond sad is the grief he is getting for not being so "open minded" as to deny God despite any evidence God may be willing to offer, like the rest of you.

Drich agrees with you, monkey, need I say more?

All the "evidence" for all the deities has one thing in common -- it's NOT real evidence. Evidence has to be testable, repeatable, verifiable, falsifiable, valid, and demonstrable. If your favorite deity is so impressive than the evidence for it should be equally impressive.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste -- don't pollute it with bullshit.

That would sort of contradict them not (necessarily) believing to be interventionist. I think I know what you're saying, but your statement is phrased a little oddly. Could you clarify what you mean so that I may address it properly? No. Monkeyman is looking to relieve his fear of death and what may come of it. His search for god has nothing to do with the life that god may offer him, but rather the afterlife that that god might offer him. He has claimed in this thread that he doesn't give a shit about what the Bible says, but I guarantee you that he's concerned about the possibility of hell. No matter how much his rational mind tells him that hell is a ridiculous premise born of primitive minds, he can't help but be concerned about it. This is just part of the disease you sell Dich. One of these days he'll either overcome his concerns or he'll join the sheep in the pen. Regardless of his eventual decision, he's not on some lofty open-minded journey as you would have us believe. He's dealing with his own fear - likely put there by people like you. |
