That video was interesting but I'd have to know precisely the story behind this experiment, and what the original Nasa footage / the rest of the videos to make a comment on it.

I'd heartily recommend you watch them Adrian. Here is the first one:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nDPYBCnMHKM You need to watch all of them to see all the 'evidence', there's some other great nasa footage of other 'things'- I guarantee you will find them fascinating even if you decide they don't amount to 'evidence'. I'm dying to know if anyone else is as 'impressed' as I am??? Regards Catherine. The intro is quite funny, but I don't think it's meant to be. Bear with it....

I really am surprised that 75% here voted yes. Equally surprised that no one voted no. Because it isn't something that science can 'prove,' there is no 'evidence.'
I voted not sure because I couldn't say either way. It is possible. Every once in a while I will see some silly nonsense on the History Channel or something that tries to equate certain Biblical events with UFO appearances which is just silly. An interesting aside not at all to be taken seriously, I once read a study that there was never a 'Christian' who had a UFO experience. I think that was abduction, but I am not sure.
This is to show a sense of scale and the huge improbability of aliens reaching us any time soon.
I think this is a very good way of actually getting the sense of scale right. It is so difficult to comprehend what a number like 4 lightyears actually means. If the Sun were scaled to a 1 foot radius, then Alpha Centauri would be about 10,300 miles away. And that is just a nearby star, where we have not found any evidence emanating from it that there is life in that system, let alone visiting us.

There is an extremely high scientific probability that aliens exist elsewhere in the universe, so thats obviously enough to believe in them.
Leo, the 'distance' problem is covered in the videos I have provided links for. I hope you have time to watch them. If my memory serves me right, parts 1 and 2 of part 1 cover the 'distance' problem and for those of you who haven't time to watch all of them, the 'ufo' shown on my first link is explained in parts 8 and 9 of part 1. They go into the 'tether incident'.

Saying aliens could exist on other planets is a prediction based on the evidence we already have. Science is there to make predictions as well as look at the facts. When the predictions meet the facts is when you know your theory is going well. RE: Do you believe in aliens?

Yeah, well, thats easy for you to say ... probability sucks in my world if not for the infinate probability drive and when Douglas Adams was drunk off his ass in a field somewhere in the United Kingdom with a towell dreaming that stuff ... time was relative ... lunchtime doubly so. It isn't so far fetched ... this reality of ours. Ivek u8ibeen there. Bloody Cat obscured my view.
This must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays.
