You can stop this thread now cos I've figured out what the reality is.
The reality is most secular societies don't accept rape.
Most Muslim societies don't accept rape.
Some Muslims rape people.
Some atheists rape people.
Most people don't rape people.
The only difference between atheists and Muslims in this aspect is that we don't believe an invisible person is telling us rape is bad.

I never said it was a contradiction, I said it was illogical. You were using logic in the form of [if A, then B]. This was not the case, as I pointed out. Thus, not logical. Illogical.
You were saying its illogical because their sense wouldn't be gone. You didn't understand the comparison with dead, dumb, blind animals so you made a comment about what the 'truth' is basically not reading the verse in its context. Try again man. Re read your posts

I think the primary issue is the definition of rape. It would seem that some Muslims would not consider non-consensual sex within a marriage to be rape. Others do.

No, you need to read what I write without prejudice.
The verse in question stated that a lack of sense means people are deaf, dumb and blind. This is not a logical statement as sense is not a necessary factor to be able to see, hear and speak. Thus, it is illogical.

Its a bold claim to say that morality is taught using myths. If it is, it really really shouldn't be.
I don't think it's a bold claim. I think it's an empirical observation. Children are taught morality using myths, stories, etc. I'm not sure how you can deny this. How do you think morality is taught?
