Gay Conversion Therapy

RE: Gay Conversion Therapy
In related news, my country's Supreme Court - in all its wisdom - has chosen to declare being gay a crime once more.

And the whole thing isn't even because of religion - its a remnant of British Colonial law which Britain itself has moved on from.

I forget where I saw it but I read an agony aunt column once where a guy was asking for advice on how to get his gay son to go to therapy to "cure him". Apparently he (the son) did not believe it would work.

The columnists answer was to suggest the dad turn gay for a year or two to demonstrate to the son how easy it was to decide to be attracted to a different gender.

Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken."

Methinks, if followed to a 'T', the parent would be the one learning something here.

It's a controversial process which the world's leading experts in psychology have described as potentially "dangerous" and "harmful". But in 2009 a survey found 16% of therapists in the UK had attempted the treatment.

The new bill, put forward by Swansea West MP Geraint Davies, would ban the practice.

I believe that that was the point they were trying to make.

Give it time 'Murica, You'll catch up. Or at least you will if y'all stop voting for people like Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin.

1) I think "Christian conversion therapy" would do infinitely more good.
2) I don't think this is about philosophy.

Sadly, It's more likely that the repugs will bellow out a law to make it illegal to establish straight to gay therapies, and get a wave of new tea party members on the disinformation.

To be gay, or not to be gay.
That is the question.
