I got knitting needles, and a beginners knitting kit for kids. Thought I'd start with the kids version first, since it had online tutorials--although now I'm just all out confused because technically I'm knitting, only it's by using a crochet needle. Go figure. It was easy enough, I just got right on in there and started knitting! It's awesome! Okay it was awesome until I realized my scarf was getting skinnier as I went along, and had to undo a bunch of it. But now it's aWesome!  That's what I'm doing now.

If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Hmmm. The purist in me says "No, it is not knitting" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knitting
The 'hooker in me says "No, it is crocheting and not knitting"
What I see? You are making a knitted fabric utilising crochet techniques ....very clever who ever thought this up. As knitting needles can present a real danger to young ones learning how to knit. Although that Knooking hook looks positively wicked! :S
The technique used here "Knooking" is very similar to the technique used to create Afghan/Tunisian crochet fabric.

Ha! Well, I have some knitting needles too, I'll have to give it a go with those when I'm done with my scarf

Thinking about it, the same principle with Knooking is applied to knitting. You leave your stitches on the needle while you finish the row.... insert needle wrap yarn around drag loop through loop you inserted needle into.
With crochet you only have one stitch to deal with at any one time

And knooking, that's my next project, looks fun!
