The baby one is creepy, as are the "little kid" looking ones, especially when they're not smiling or making any sort of expression, they just stare blankly... CREEPY!!
The craftsmanship on them is beautiful, though. I love the costuming, and the "adult" ones are really great.

Did they kill that polar bear, or did you have it flown in special for the photo shoot?

Glo Bug and Pops (the fawn in the middle and white and brindle on the right) were perfectly happy posing on the big furry lump for photos. Gifin, the big black guy on the left, was having none of it though which is why he still has three feet still planted firmly on the ground.

Maybe if it had been a real polar bear he would have been more cooperative.
All three are adorable, and the collars you made look great - I've always wanted to try leather work, but for purses, and whenever I've tried it turns out crappy. I need to refine my technique...

The collars weren't really all that hard. I walked into the leather store, told them what I wanted to do and walked out with a few tools and supplies. There was a little trial and error involved but within a week I was making serviceable collars. Having a sewing machine that worked (barely) on leather helped. I'd never dream of trying something like this though...
Way too much skill involved for me.

Or did I forget to push the post reply button? I dunno, but please let me know if I did something wrong.
BJD's are ball jointed dolls KichigaiNeko. They are quite pretty
Here are some on pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=BJD
Very pretty! Rather Anime like.
You have to have you pics hosted on such sites as Flickr or like me use your Facebook page. If you broke any rules you would have been notified via Private Message explaining what went wrong.
Just love your leather work pappy!

popeyespappy, that is impressive indeed! I can see how you would not think you could make that. But I think in a craft you start easy, and at some point you desire to learn more.
I am sure one day you will be able to make these if you want to, and the process to learn it will be a lot of fun!
KichigaiNeko, yes they are rather anime like! They are expensive though...
Thanks, I did not get a message so I guess I never posted it. But it is good to know it has to go via a hosting site.

I wonder at the cost of making them? My mum uses armature in some of her dolls and that can get a bit expensive. And the BJDs are full porcelain?

Yes I know that this thread has been inactive for more than 30 days mods but.......
Firstly,
Can we pin it? Since most projects take more than 30 days to complete?
Secondly,
WTF has Kichi been up to?
WELL! Let me tell you........
Having finished two jumpers for a relative "over east" of which I have no pics
There has been the construction of a "Beanie/ shark hat" for a little moitsel here in WA.
Now for the fun stuff........................................
#1 Son and heir is moving to a new property, which he will be able to rent in perpetuity from a Community Housing organisation (as long as he keeps paying the rent)
OMGG! IF the D-Day invasion was planned with such precision! (#1 Son has Asperger's).... Well, so far we are D-1 Day before moving day and we only go notice last Friday!
My next project is a pair of "Scuffs" for myself
Yes I am crocheting these and I don't mind telling you that I have had my sleep disturbed by new and inventive ways to do these....Fuck my brain!
Following this lot, I am looking to make myself some clothes for my daughter's graduation ceremony in October....
YES! I iz one fucking very busy Kichi!
Did I mention my garden? But that is for another thread.
Oh yeah... I am in the Southern hemisphere so it is fucking cold here.... -1 overnight, rain, snow in the eeastern states and bloody inconvenient...with associated colds and 'flu... but we iz loving it!

Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
