I have hydro as well. Shunted right side VP, last revised (thankfully) 1988. Secondary to spina bifida. Never knew about the blindness connection, but it makes sense.
ETA: correction to 1988
Well to the club. About 7% of us have visual problems.

I came here to say hi after being yelled off the tablet thread.
Hi and welcome.
After reading what you said about Picard and Kirk, I have to inform you that you're very mistaken in your opinion. Picard is infinitely better than Kirk.

I'm with Quill here, nothing can. has, or ever will, top Captain Kirk and his crew!
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Well if you include his crew, then that may be debatable considering that includes Spock. But Spock tops Kirk. Picard tops Kirk.

Nuh uh Kirk was the first therefore he wins. Not to mention his epic fight and fall scenes. Artform, that.
Plus I liked his misogynistic need to reproduce all over the universe

Yes I think that would be what he is most remembered for, lol: seducing every female of every alien race he's ever set eyes on.
Picard on the other hand, is an actual person. He had fears, ideals, beliefs, weaknesses, quirks, everything. (And he is so sexy.)
I have no idea what happened with Kirk. The writers were obviously competent enough to have created Spock, but somehow Kirk comes across as a complete cowboy. He is certainly entertaining to watch but to say he is a greater man than Picard? Nuh uh, the borg would not have deemed him worthy of assimilation.
