Any Vegetarians/Vegans here?

Open water fish farms are already grappling with this (unsuccessfully).
Fish are more complicated and delicate than algae, methinks. I don't think it's hard to cultivate algae-- or at least I've seen TV shows which claim it's not hard.

I wouldn't call them more delicate than algae. It can be fairly hard to cultivate algae up to the standards of the USDA (not to mention whatever other agencies may be involved depending on the algae). It's probably not very hard to cultivate algae in the general sure - I leave my pool alone and voila

-but that isn't going to end up on anybody's plate anytime soon.

(breifly worked at an old coors plant that was converted to algae - DHA and ARA - took me a month to realize that I couldn't live with the smell. for all you parents out there - that slight hint of rotting fish in baby formula? yeah, that shit)

edit: reminds me, ever wonder how they separate algae from whatever they are using it to produce? In the case of DHA and ARA, it's with the leverage of military grade neurotoxins. algae, fuck yeah!

Yeah, that sounds pretty unappetizing.

I am primarily vaginatarian but if I'd born a little later perhaps I'd have become an omnivore.

I think I might like to try being exclusively vaginatarian if I could only secure a regular supply
It's not immoral to eat meat, abort a fetus or love someone of the same sex...I think that about covers it

All you have to do is streamline your logistics base and position yourself within the flow of commerce brother.

That is actually good advice. I have not put myself in the way of many vaginas lately it is true

Participating in evolution is easy.
1) Have ANY good quality.
2) Find a girl who values that quality.
3) Sexy time.

And there's great news for everyone. Many girls see being a prick as a good quality, and the other ones like nice guys. So you're in there by default! Big Grin

Lady Gaga has said that killing animals for meat and clothes is wrong, and that she wore the meat dress to symbolize that.

I think she makes a terrific point and, using that logic, I'm going to go and beat the shit out of some black people to promote anti-racism.

I am also vegetarian, mainly because I feel the mind and sentient life is incredible, special, and has "value." I value human life over all others and if there is no choice (trapped on an island with limited food options) I would ofcourse favor eating meat. However, I personally feel killing creatures with functional minds by choice rather than necessity is wrong (at least for me and my conscience).
My line is generally if it has a brain, then killing it should be necessary not optional. The ability to make moral judgement is one of the major characteristics that seperate us from most if not all other animals and therefore (and I'm speculating about a future retort based on past experience) extending this thought process to a lion in the jungle is ridiculous.
We live in a world of caloric excess (at least in the USA) in which a healthy and complete diet can easily be achieved without killing conscience creatures and I try to make my choices accordingly.

{Please note I am not trying to extrapolate my view to you nor do I advocate forcing others to conform to my viewpoint - I am only advocating my own position}
