I like this a lot!  Clap

The pose and the implied movement are very life-like. It has a lot more of a drawn-from-nature look than regular fantasy or anime-type illustration. I think that's hard to do -- give believable anatomy to an imaginary creature. Also the confident but free touch of the marks gives it an artistic quality that I like more than manga.

The background texture is unusual. Is that a kind of paper? Or canvasboard, maybe?

I'm glad nobody can compare what I actually paint with what I had in mind to begin with.

Awww thank you. It's actually not too hard to get a good look at Trico's anatomy since he's a video game character. He assumes this pose a lot when there are bad dudes around >:0
