Um, this is just basic English grammar. "God" refers to a specific individual thus it is capitalized. It doesn't matter whether or not he exists. Do you not capitalize "Superman" or "Spock" too? You only don't capitalize "god" when you use it to refer to a generic class of individuals as in "he's a god".

Capitalize the 'd', and when they mention it, suggest you might be dyslexic and need special treatment.
