I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned.

Right now the bastards will have to pry Win 7 out of my cold dead fingers.

So after all the Microsoft ad campaigns telling customers it's 'us' who have the problem with windows 8 and that 'we need to change', they're completely reverting back again for windows 9? Makes complete sense...

I'm gonna give an unpopular opinion here, after using windows 8 for a good 4/5 months now, I'm actually getting pretty used to it. Hell I even quite like it.

I've given some thought to trying it out, but I have no compelling reason to give up on Windows 7, especially when I'd have to pay actual money to do it.

You know what's actually quite good about Windows 8?

FUCKING NOTHING!!!

I absolutely despise Windows. I have never had a good experience with an OS of theirs, except for when I was 12 and discovered porn with Windows 3.1 (but I have AOL to thank for that more than Windows) OSX is worth the extra dough, but Linux is my shit.

Ok, I've been using Linux only for over a decade now, but hey, Windows 98SE with Servicepack 1000000 was the shit!

Edit: wait, no service pack Smile

Win9... funny thing these windows version numbers...
Remember windows 3.0?
And then Windows 3.11 for workgroups?
And then Windows NT 4.0?
And then Windows 95 (4.00.95)?
And then Windows 98 (4.10.1998)?
And then windows 98SE (4.10.2222)?
And then Windows 2000 (5.0.2195)?
And... about the same time... WindowsMe (4.90.3000)?
And then Windows XP (5.1.2600)?
And then windows server 2003 (5.2)?
And then Windows Vista (6.0.6000)?
And then Windows server 2008 (6.0)?
And Windows 7 (6.1.7601)?
And then windows server 2012 (6.2)?
And windows 8 (6.2.9200)?
And windows 8.1 (6.3.9200)?

So windows 9, huh?.... should be 6.4! Tongue
Which just means it's another incarnation of VISTA!!!!!!

I dual boot Linux / Windows 7 as all my astrophotography and gaming stuff only run on windows but I do my day to day stuff on linux due to its better security.

So far, Windows has ALWAYS followed this pattern: 1 good OS, then one piece of crap then another good one.

I think Windows 7 is the best OS they've made so far, and have no compelling reason to switch to 8.

Until 2 years from now when they stop support...
