An unanswerable question

RE: An unanswerable question
I don't agree with late term abortions. You compared getting abortions to what Yahweh supposedly did in the old testament and so forth. Even if we take into account later term abortions or even babies who get abandoned right after birth, that's still not nearly as bad as what Yahweh did.

Quote:Maybe I can't imagine how such a strong directive would ever be given.

Really, Frods?

Quote:Genesis 22

22 Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called.

“Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”

2 “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”

Seems childishly easy, doesn't it?

Ahh, more of that hysterical demanding that fetuses are babies. Such a cogent argument! Rolleyes

What you mean is, you've got a dodge for the question that would only satisfy someone like yourself. But, go on.

Quote:If your girlfriend told you the she was prego, and you had to pay for 18 years of child support or pay for an abortion (just FYI it's the same as killing a baby) which would you choose?

It would be up to her. It is not my choice to make.

Quote:Somehow God is a monster for ordering the deaths of say 100? 1000 ? A million? people total?? but 'we' are justified to have killed a billion plus babies, (since 1980) and the number still is climbing. all in the name of a woman's right to choose..

So, it's okay that God does it because man does it? Yet, somehow, we're not as righteous.

Quote:We are told to judge not LEST we can be judged using that very same measure. If your swing the baby killer sword at God know it is double edged, especially if you are a pro choicer.

We aren't perfectly omnipotent and omniscient beings alleged to be the source of right and wrong. Apparently, your god isn't either, since you insist on holding that god to lower standards than you expect out of your fellow man.

Now that we have that bullshit out of the way, answer the question, Drich: would you obey any command from God, regardless of what it is?

No

How are you convinced that a disembodied voice is God?

I personally have jettisoned a billion times that number of potential offspring since xmas. Don't be such a cunt - nobody's arguing that abortion doesn't happen.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
