RE: What's your favorite flower

Did someone just ask to see all my wallet pictures of my little ones? Alrighty.
So for roses, this is the darkest red I grow. In bud it is almost black, David Austin's "The Prince". It also has the best scent of any rose I grow. It would be more popular if it didn't have such a crappy growth habit.
One more rose just for the color, "Hot Cocoa".
On the opposite end of the stink meter is this Dracunculus vulgaris from europe. On the positive side, even though it smells like a dead rat it is kind of sexy, being both a phallic and vaginal symbol in one. This one isn't shy, the stamen alone is more than two feet long here.
And a detail of it with the morning light coming through the cowl.
For a pretty little thing I always thought these Agapetes "Ludgvan Cross" flowers would make perfect earrings. They look best back lit like this.
But they're also impressive en masse.
For hot, hot, hot color I'd have to go with this succulent flower:
Something about the material in the center really collects and shines back the light in a surprising way. This close up shows it better.
I like orange flowers and this photo really shows its three stages nicely.
Passionflowers are another passion. This one is unusual for being fully open when it is only this far open.
