More often than not those sites will have links to other sites that may be of interest to you.

Yeah, I'm browsing a couple of them. They have forums too!

RE: Communes
I lived in two different communes in my more radical and they were both hopeless.

Even though there are people with some ability who start them communes attract the most useless and they do nothing. they simultanously espouse positive virtues whilst they are mostly selfish exploitative little shits.

There is always a fat woman (I have been assured she exists in other communes too) who takes over the kitchen and assigns rotas to people. She makes arbitary rules which ,oddly, never get discussed. She is absurdly bossy and always seems to avoid doing anything difficult or unpleasant. Don;t ever think of using your experience to try and make anything more efficient because the established losers will stop it. There is always a religion and if not explicit it will be some 'spiritual' nonsense. You will be subjected to every conspiracy theory known to man and it is mandatory to believe them even if mutually contradictory. The 'group meetings' never happen or if they do just become adulation sessions for some popular person who does no more than anyone else but gets cheered for it.

Essentially once people realise that they can get away with doing nothing then they do nothing.
Some may call them junk, I call them treasures.

but... but... would I still be visiting you, or would that be against the rules? Undecided

Rules? Fuck rules. I don't have a lot of rules in my life, and I don't plan on adding too many more. If someone told me I couldn't hang out with you, I would tell them to suck a dick.

RE: Communes
After being deployed for a long time. Commune living is not for me anymore.

I do not have any privacy. Showers always smells from the person before. No room for my stuff. No place to get away. Disease spread like wildfire. Over used toilets, which leads to running of TP, hand soap, and paper towels. Cleaning after others.

It is an awesome idea, but horrible in practice.

RE: Communes
I am thinking that rexbecca is looking for that "community" essence that is hard to find now a days.

I would say "give it a go, you don't know what you may learn, and who you may meet....but don't expect much from it"

The one where they don't ever clap. Except when they do. Watch the film again you'll see what I mean.
