He prefaced that section by letting the audience know that he was only proposing a speculation on what might be beyond the event horizon of a black hole.

That last episode was awesome. I seriously love this show. The stuff about space and black holes from this and the first episode is fucking awesome.

Speculation... the singularity that gave rise to the big bang could be similar to the singularity in a black hole, thus spawning its own universe...

Are you saying that people can live inside something which is compressed by the weight of 20 billion suns?

When time and space distorts because of such intense gravity, who knows what's possible?

What's possible is that you get compressed into a tiny dot. Not live happy life.

I found it stupid he decided to lower himself to deal with the Creationists. He should be more wise than that...
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

That's also a possibility. Intense gravity still distorts space/time, so, again, no one knows what it looks like beyond an event horizon. They can measure distortions leading up to the center, but, after that...

BTW, this is all much more wondrous and awe-inspiring than anyone's half-baked idea of a deity. Why would a god care about types of clothing humans are wearing when there are fucking black holes out there in his backyard to deal with?

Just got done watching ep 4. I think NdGT is now pushing the helmet free cycling agenda.

Thought last night's episode was hella good.

I knew about spectroscopy and such before (I've had long, long, loooooooong conversations about spectroscopy/ometry and chromotography, how the machines work and about the applications for forensic science) but I still feel like this was a very informative episode and it gave me a better visual for how spectroscopy works so I can stop asking my best friend the really stupid questions when we're talking about this stuff. Smile

Well done, NdGT! Maybe I'll watch it again tonight... oh, who am I kidding, I'll be watching Dancing with the Stars... Blush
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.

For some reason, episode 4 didn't show. They skipped one, and I watched episode 5 last night. Hopefully 4 comes on. Hate it when they conveniently miss broadcasting an episode.
