That was a special day at the dog park. There was so much moisture in the air that the bubbles this guy was making were nearly as big as buses -and- I was able to shoot right into the sun.

I've got some more of these. Oddly almost every one I took that day was a keeper.

Here are some of mine:

Tokaanu Thermal Pools, New Zealand, playing with my polarizer.

Giraffe, Orana Wildlife Preserve (I was not using a zoom lens.) Love the off-center composition and the shape of the giraffe's mouth, like she's smirking.

Lion, Orana Wildlife Preserve (Again, was not using a zoom lens.) I just like this photo... Smile

Random house number in New Orleans - liked the texture of the wall

Random dog in a bar on Bourbon Street - I think he's waiting for his Bloody Mary

My kitty cat Riley - love how his reflection disappears into the window.

My kitty cat Rudy right after I got my 1.8f/50mm lens - he's so photogenic. Smile

The TV Show Grimm filming on my family's industrial property with downtown Portland in the background - I love the repeating shapes of the roofs and the cool blue colors.

Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.

Agreed, your kitty photos are both special. Looks like you've got the trifecta: a good subject, a good camera and a good eye.

I've never owned a decent camera. The best I have ever had was the last pocket camera I purchased - A Pansonic with an 8X optical zoom.

Since mobile phones started coming equipped with cameras I've used those and right now I couldn't even tell you where my camera is.

This photo was taken with my very first android phone - the LG GT 540. That was a brain dead phone with a very limited 3 megapixel camera on board - no flash, no fancy extras. Still - amazing what you can get out of it. Look for the spider in the whole in the middle:

When I changed my phone for the HTC Sensation XE it was a night and day change in terms of camera and since then its the only one I use.

The first time I got to use it was at the car museum in Athens:

It has a quite remarkable macro facility - for a phone anyway:

The most amazing thing about it is the speed. I would never have managed to get this shot with the Panasonic. This was as single shot taken as my daughter whizzed round on a roller coaster. She is front and centre in the High school musical T-shirt:

And this is a fast action burst of 5 frames although I have no idea how it will show here:

Well it works for me. Excellent but a bit dizzying. Still 5 shots in a second is no mean feat.

Nothing pro-level - but amazing what you can do with these things.
