Well, I've definitely got the slow part down. :p

I train for my half marathon from January to May, then I take the rest of the year off, so I think my running times average out to 2-3 hours a week... Right now I'm hitting the recommended goal after two or three days (pretty soon it'll be two days as my long runs get longer), but only because I run so damn slow it takes me a long time to do the mileage. Yeah... some do exercise because it makes them more alive, but some exercise because they're obsessed with buying more time. There are a ton of people who exercise because of the fountain of youth it gives them.
Hmmmm. I suppose that must definitely be true. I've met people like that.

I've always heard that lowering one's weight and reducing calorie intake can reduce one's lifespan by a huge abount-- like several years on average. I'm curious if this study is comparing people OF THE SAME WEIGHT who jog a lot/exercise moderately. Because if you look at the US, I find it very hard to belief that a dedicated jogger will die younger than a 300-lb Dorito-eater. Smile

I guess the only truly reliable way to keep yourself from dying too soon in the future is to to die right now.

Yeah, when you are there you'd be amazed what you will do hang onto to your extra elderly existence with every last knarly finger.

I was thinner when I was digging ditches all day, but I felt like it was wearing me out, not building me up.

Anything to excess.....kills.

If my wife ever wants to do me in I hope she decides to fuck me to death. I just want to come, and go.

I wonder what scientifically perfect life would look like.

Lots of sex would be my guess. But that is just a foolish dream, I am married.

It is harmful, I was sitting and eating a gallon of ice cream while watching a marathon and I was so not paying attention to how fast I was eating.. I got a brain freeze that made me fall off of the couch and hit my head.. sooo. No jogging for me.

You know, that might be what it is. Any kind of serious exercise should have a couple-day rest period, IMO. When I'm doing full-on training, I do gym + maybe 30 minutes cardio on alternating days, and long distance (maybe 10k+) on the others. But even that's pushing it. If I ran every day, I'd blow out my legs for sure.
