Everything that I was, everyone that I knew, and everything that I did was mormon. How do I find non-mormon friends and find a new community to identify with? Will this emptiness go away? I love science, but I no longer hold a relationship with my fellow humans because the only ones I knew were mormon but they now think I'm an anti-christ and I have now succombed to some form of evil doctrine. I don't have too many people I can identify with and chat over a cup of coffee or go on hikes with. I am still friends with mormons and I love them dearly, but I am seeking for friendships that I can identify with and wont be afraid to ask the big questions and who love science as much as I do. I want to talk about physics and quantum theory! I want to have real discussions!

Try Meetup.com. There are lots of special interest clubs that use the internet to connect but meet in real life.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

If you're a student, you could try the Secular Student Alliance.
http://www.secularstudents.org/ Also: http://www.meetup.com/aofuslc/ http://atheistsofutah.org/home/ https://www.facebook.com/AtheistsOfUtah http://reasonutah.com/ You have this to look forward to in just 10 days - "The 40th annual American Atheist National Convention will be held in Salt Lake City April 17-20 at the Hilton Salt Lake Center downtown. It will feature an assortment of speakers, workshops, training sessions and exhibits aimed at educating participants, cultivating a sense of community among like-minded non-believers and “having fun," said Dave Muscato, public relations director of the organization." I'm sure you will find plenty of like minded people there. You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
