Of course you can.

Now excuse me while I put on my cape and try to catch that pig that flew past my house this morning.

Let's just say if the need to fill a position arises, you're waaaay down the list.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I think that if you get your post count over 10,000 in the next week you have a real shot at it!
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I know this thread isn't serious, but if there's one way to guarantee not being a mod it's starting a thread asking to be a mod.

RE: Can I become a Mod?
Bigger question is do you really WANT to be a mod?

I mean a moderator moderates. I see you as more of a provocateur. An instigator who spices things up a little. Making you a mod would be like making ozzy Osborne a primary school music teacher.
"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken."
