Let's forget about the historical figure for a moment.

Out of all humans on earth, do you believe that one of them is going to be the most praiseworthy of them all? And if you do, do you think it's plausible if God exists he would send him as a Messenger to humanity?

I just find it contradictory that some Atheists are saying he probably didn't exist and others are taking disputed events as historical facts (like the age of Aisha when she got married).

Who cares who he was. No human, not the oracals of Greece and Rome, or Egypt, or Jesus or Mo, no human has a magic tin foil hat talking to fictional sky parents.

If he existed he merely started a new cult that went on to become a religion.

Since no independent witness ever saw the reported Mohammed guy it's highly likely that he is just a fictitious character like Jesus. When Uthman got his committee together to write the Koran they needed a central character to sell their story. So they made up Mohammed. It worked.
