Opinions on smart drugs - immoral/unfair?

Opinions on smart drugs - immoral/unfair?
Short introduction: Smart drugs or nootropics enhance various brain functions like memory, cognition, attention etc.
A couple of popular ones: Piracetam, Noopept, Phenibut(addictive), and many others.

Personally I see nothing wrong with the use of cognition enhancing drugs because none of them really make you THAT overclocked. They arent even slightly close to NZT-48.

I see it as a nice motivating factor in studies and a part of school, though I personally dont take any of them regularly, when I do it is more like a one time thing to keep me concentrated on studying and whatever else.

Whats your thoughts on this?
Some will consider it unfair, or unnatural or weak.

Frankly, it seems like theists have been taking stupid pills for years so anything that evens the score is a solid idea.

I prefer a non-chemical approach. Trans cranial Direct-Current Stimulation (TCDS) seems much safer and cheaper. My arduino just came in the mail I will be making a device for personal use in the near future.
PM me if you know where this is from "...knees in the breeze" and don't look it up!!

Regular exercise, good diet, structure, getting good sleep, these all can improve our cognitive functioning.

Yet people think of these as in a different class than taking nootropic drugs to improve function. Why?

One reason is that people feel that unless struggle is involved, a benefit hasn't been earned. This seems rather provincial.

Another reason is the idea that people who use such artificial means of gaining benefit are weak and there's a moral judgement involved. This is like people condemning those with depression or chemical dependency as being weak; it's blaming somebody for not exercising control over their situation, or choosing to take "the easy way out."

Another reason is that it is perceived as unfair that some are able to cheaply gain an advantage while others, whether through ignorance, lack of access, or choice, don't have access to such an advantage. In a school setting, this might be a justifiable objection because how well you do in school has consequences.

I'm not sure I see anything wrong with them, but I would be cautious because all drugs have side effects, and the long-term consequences of taking many of these drugs is unknown.

I want these. I suck at concentration these days and have the attention span of a toddler.

They are cheap, legal and can be bought online with no receipt. So if you want some I can give you my refferal link for a nice site.

I find it more unfair hanging around people with "total recall", they read a text through once and recall 80 % while I read the text through 3 times, make a presentation and explain everything to myself and recall 95 %, but fuck I spent 5 times more time on doing that.

I dont know what you were trying to point out specifically rasetsu, but I do agree with you on that no drug so far synthesized can replace good old hard work.

Do they work well for you?
I've never heard of anything like this. From the little I learned just googling them right not, I see nothing wrong with it. It might be interesting to try out one day...

I suppose you could find piracetam in the drug store, but noopept will probably require you to take a flight to russia.

I have only experience with noopept, and it`s pretty much a double edged sword. Too much will get you foggy, sleepy, could give you insomnia, irritability and short term memory decline.
When I had these symptoms it was because I was taking it each day with no regard to my choline levels. So I was irresponsible.

If you find a balance it can be nice, but I consider coffee a better option though.
