I would like to suggest that members are encouraged to respect one another, refrain from using foul language, and insults. If this happens repeatingly that the member be warned.

Rules three and four, though those apply to useless insults and so on. We aren't in the habit of limiting the patter of the users just based on what a few of us might find unpalatable; there are some who would want bible passages forbidden too, and they'd have the same argument as you do, here.

Incidentally, I'm curious as to why, when you were asking where you'd post a suggestion like this, you quoted my debate challenge? Tongue

Generally, people here already are respectful to people deserving of it. Any member making personal attacks on another member gets sanctioned. If you get upset about all that other stuff, you'd most likely implode if you went out in public.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

And that's not a personal attack, mind you. He's basically saying your ideas are full of shit, not you necessarily. There should be no rule that says he has to respect your beliefs.

Respect goes both ways, and don't think for a minute that just because you haven't called anyone an asshole means that you are respecting this forum. This is a discussion site, and all you do is evade and regurgitate.
